Metro identifies officers in Friday night shooting

LAS VEGAS (KSNV -- The officers involved in Friday night’s officer-involved shooting, which occurred near the intersection of Las Vegas Boulevard and Sahara Avenue, have been identified.

Officer Jeffrey Gentry, 45, has been employed with Metro since January 1999. Officer Bryce Martines, 27, has been with Metro since June 2008.

Both officers are assigned to the Patrol Division, South Central Area Command and have been placed on routine paid administrative leave pending the outcome of a review of this event.

Danny Michael Wadsworth Jr., 31, was shot and killed after police say he fired at officers.
