LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) – A motorcyclist was injured this morning after trying to get away from a Metro officer near West Flamingo Road and South Rainbow Boulevard.

According to Metro Officer Laura Meltzer, a Metro unit attempted to make a vehicle stop on the motorcyclist just after 10:15 a.m. when the rider took off at a high rate of speed. The vehicle crashed near the intersection of Spring Valley Parkway and Ravenwood Drive.

Meltzer said Metro did not engage the motorcyclist in the pursuit. Medical units at the scene say the motorcyclist suffered serious injuries.
