NORTH LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) – The North Las Vegas Police Department has released the identity of the man suspected in a deadly shooting Sunday afternoon near Camino Al Norte and West Ann Road.

Ajuan Malcolm Theus, 22, was booked at the Las Vegas City Jail on one count of first-degree murder with a deadly weapon.

According to a news release, dispatch received 911 calls around 3:30 p.m. Sunday of a shooting in the 5400 block of Jose Ernesto Street. Arriving officers located C'dario Laparker Burns, 25, in a car suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Burns was transported to UMC Trauma where he succumbed to his injuries.

Police say there was a verbal argument between Burns and Theus in the front yard of a home on Jose Ernesto Street. The argument escalated into an exchange of gunfire between the two. Burns ran to his vehicle where Theus allegedly shot him multiple times and fled the scene.

While detectives were still on scene, Theus returned, and officers took him into custody without incident.
