NORTH LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) — Two bargaining groups will meet with North Las Vegas city leaders this morning to move toward settlement agreements.
The Teamsters and Rirefighters unions reached deals with North Las Vegas on Wednesday night in state-mediated talks involving Gov. Brian Sandoval.
Two other police unions have yet to reach agreements, but officials say they’re close.
Although the governor was not in the room for negotiations, he spoke to both city leaders and the bargaining groups on Thursday.
The deals would settle the past two years of litigation and balance the city’s budget for the next fiscal year, avoiding a state takeover.
