LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) – A judge has granted a temporary order stopping a raffle of the 27 puppies rescued from a Las Vegas business that authorities say a co-owner and her boyfriend tried to torch.

The order issued Friday blocks Clark County and the nonprofit Animal Foundation from taking the dogs from Prince and Princess Pet Store managing owner Donald Thompson at least until a hearing on Tuesday.

Attorney Jacob Hafter alleged officials conspired to steal the puppies from Thompson and sell them for money.

Thompson wants the dogs to go to a different nonprofit group, A Home 4 Spot.

With store co-owner Gloria Lee in jail, the Clark County Commission rejected Thompson's ownership claim, saying The Animal Foundation would be in charge of finding homes for the rescued dogs.

Lee and accused arson co-conspirator Kirk Bills are accused of trying to set the store afire early Jan. 27 for the insurance money.
