LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) -- Accessing your bank information from your smart phone can be convenient, but be cautious. This Rip-Off Alert warns that hackers are out to prey on your phone's personal information.

Federal regulators have this advice:

-- Password protect your phone or tablet so no one else can access your information.

-- Never give out personal information unless you have initiate contact. Banks don't call you and request sensitive information.

-- Stay away from being auto-logged into your accounts.

-- Report stolen or lost devices immediately to your wireless provider and banks.
