Wells Fargo is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for the attempted bank robbery that occurred April 19 at its location on 6110 W. Cheyenne.
The suspect is described as a black male, 25 years old, 5-foot-5 and 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black/gray knit cap, a black zip-up jacket with an argyle pattern, and gray pants.
According to the FBI news release, the suspect forced his way into the bank just before 8:20 a.m. as the employees were unlocking the door and opening the business. He demanded money from the victims and ultimately took a brown Wells Fargo bank bag. The suspect also took an employee's purse and cell phone.
During the robbery, he struck one of the victims on the head with the handgun, causing a laceration. The suspect then left the business in an unknown direction on foot.
Law enforcement is particularly concerned with the level of violence used by this criminal and the possibility of him acting again, resulting in serious injury to an innocent person.
