(NBC News) -- Millions are bundling up against the cold and snow as another round of winter weather hits the country, bringing with it dangerous conditions already blamed for several deaths.
In Indiana more than 40 cars involved in a frigid pileup on Interstate 94 Thursday.
Three were killed, and more than 20 more injured.
The Army Corps of Engineers is keeping a close eye on the frozen Allegheny River in Pennsylvania, where conditions are prime for the largest river ice jam in two decades.
Nasty conditions reached as far south as Texas, where snow and ice forced flight cancellations and school closures.
