LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) --
People living near Mount Charleston are fearing the worst ahead of the coming rain this weekend. Our last big storm brought in lots of flooding and debris.
The concerns are because of last summer's Carpenter One fire
, which burned almost 28-thousand acres in the Spring Mountains. With not much vegetation to stop the water, floods swept through the Rainbow subdivision in Kyle Canyon.
The U.S. forest service dropped mulch on the worst of the burned areas to try and mitigate flood dangers. Experts hope it snows in the region this weekend instead, so there's no immediate run-off.
