News 3 partners with AlertID - What began in Washoe County has now expanded to Las Vegas. “It’s using new technology the way new technology is supposed to be used,” says Bob Fisher with the Nevada Broadcasters Association. The site allows users to post comments and follow alerts, much like social media sites. Also, alerts are sent via text message and e-mail. The site has already proved a success. In one instance an older man went missing and was located with the aid of AlertID.
