LAS VEGAS (KSNV & MyNews3) -- A violent home invasion and a serial bank robber are among the unsolved crimes for Metro police.

In this Crime Tracker 3 segment, we learn that robberies have been on the rise.

The year begins with a slight increase in robberies and we've told you, metro is going to the public for help.

On Manhunt Monday, we showed you this composite sketch of a man who broke into an older couple's home a few weeks ago -- attacking them while they were watching TV.

This week we hear about the FBI, now stepping up its search for the weatherman bandit who accused of hitting almost a dozen banks in the southwest valley.

Then, three pet stores are hit this week and police say a team may be involved in at least two of the break-ins.

If it appears there have been more robberies that usual, you're right, there have been.

The most recent figures from Metro show robberies are up with 154 so far.

Burglaries are down but just 50 below last year's figure.

In any case, the police want your help and you can do so be remaining anonymous. Call Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555 if you have any information to help police.
