LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) – The Clark County grand jury has indicted a man accused of beating a man so severely that it led to his death four days later.

Michael Dean Dymond, 54, is charged in the death of Joseph Chernowsky. Bail for Dymond is at $1 million. His next court appearance is scheduled for June 16.

According to a Metro news release, officers of Metro’s Laughlin Resident Section were dispatched about 1:10 p.m. Dec. 11 to the 1900 block of South Casino Drive in Laughlin to investigate reports of a physical altercation.

Arriving officers located Chernowsky bleeding from his face. A preliminary investigation revealed Chernowsky and Dymond knew each other. An argument between both men turned physical, resulting in the suspect striking the victim several times in the face.

Dymond fled scene but was found the next day in a desert area near Bruce Woodbury and Thomas Edison drives in Laughlin and was arrested.

Chernowsky was transported to Western Arizona Regional Medical Center in Bullhead City, Ariz., where it was determined he sustained a life-threatening injury and was then transported to UMC Trauma. He died Dec. 15.
