LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) --
A woman found beaten to death Friday morning in a west side apartment complex has been identified by the Clark County coroner.
After receiving a phone call from residents, Metro patrol officers discovered that Las Vegas resident Iris Moran, 37, was unresponsive after a severe beating in the 2600 block of S. Durango Drive. She died a short time later. The cause and manner of death are pending an autopsy, the coroner's office said.
Metro homicide detectives responded and conducted a preliminary investigation. They learned that the homicide was domestic related and as a result, 36-year-old Marvin Moran was arrested. Moran has been charged with first-degree murder and kidnapping and is being held in the Clark County Detention Center.
The event was the 60th Metro homicide investigation this year.
