LAS VEGAS -- The Nevada State Board of Pharmacy found an illegal dentist office which was operating in a business complex on West Oakey Boulevard.

The investigators, along with representatives from the Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners, the City of Las Vegas Business Licensing Division, and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Violent Crimes Section, initiated an investigation into the business.

A group of investigators responded to the business complex on May 28 at approximately 11:30 p.m. The preliminary investigation indicated that several businesses were operating without licenses, including a dentist office, a primary physician's office, and a pain/joint management clinic.

The businesses were connected through a common hallway adjoining the individual businesses. Search warrants were obtained and investigators located a large quantity of dangerous and scheduled narcotics inside the businesses.

LVMPD ARMOR, Narcotics Detectives and the State of Nevada Bureau of Radiation Control responded to assist and render safe radioactive medical equipment and chemicals.

Erik Vargas-Rivera was arrested for felony furnishing dangerous drugs without a prescription.

This investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with any information regarding this incident is urged to contact the LVMPD Violent Crimes Sections at (702) 828-5634.
