LAS VEGAS --
Metro police say Kevin Alejandro Vargas, who fled Las Vegas in June 2009, is now a suspect in the murder of Michael Guerrero . Metro is is seeking the public’s help to locate Vargas, who was a juvenile at the time of the murder.
Investigators say in the early morning hours on June 24, 2009, Vargas lured his friend Guerrero to the desert area in the 2600 block of Holly Avenue in Las Vegas where police suspect Vargas shot and killed Guerrero.
Vargas was reported missing by his family on the night of the murder and has not been seen since. Investigators believe he fled Las Vegas and may be in either Southern California or in Mexico.
Vargas is described as a Hispanic male, standing 5-foot, 140 pounds, black hair, brown eyes and has a tattoo on his right shoulder of a star with the word “Vargas.”
Metro has distributed a photograph that has been aged progressed to show how Vargas may currently appear at age 19.
