LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) -- A 32-year-old Las Vegas man is accused of killing his father with a bat and leaving his body at their condo while he left the state for Thanksgiving.
Richard Heron Jr. turned himself in to Arkansas police Monday, the same day detectives in Las Vegas discovered his father's body.
Neighbors say crime scene investigators were at the condo near jones and smoke ranch for several hours Monday, more than a week after police say heron beat his father, Richard Heron Sr., to death.
One neighbor says she heard some noises that night but saw Heron Jr. walking out calmly, so she didn't think much of it.
Heron is in Arkansas awaiting extradition proceedings, facing one count of murder with a deadly weapon.
