Metro arrests suspect wanted for attempted murder in Utah

LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) – Detectives with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department have arrested a man suspected of an attempted murder of a Utah police officer eight years ago.

Detectives with the Criminal Apprehension Team -- a multijurisdiction task force comprised of members from Metro, the Henderson Police Department and the FBI -- received information that Joaquin LopezCaraballo, 36, was working at a local Las Vegas resort.

As a result of an investigation, LopezCaraballo was arrested at approximately 6 p.m. Thursday in the 3500 block of Las Vegas Blvd. South.

LopezCaraballo also known as Reinhold Neumann, was arrested for an outstanding warrant for parole violation. He was also booked on the outstanding warrant out of Utah.

LopezCaraballo is currently housed at Clark County Detention Center pending extradition to Utah.
