LAS VEGAS (KSNV & MyNews3) -- Metro police have arrested a man they say stabbed two people on April 7. One of the victims later died at Sunrise Hospital.
Metro patrol officers on April 7 at approximately 3:30 p.m. were sent to the intersection of Nellis Boulevard and Sahara Avenue to investigate multiple reports of a person stabbed.
Arriving officers located an adult male in a vehicle suffering from apparent stab wounds.
Dispatch further received reports of a male acting erratic inside of businesses in the area. Other arriving patrol officers located the male and took him into custody.
A second victim was located in a shopping complex in the 2200 block of South Nellis Boulevard.
This victim also appeared to be suffering from stab wounds. Both victims were transported to the Sunrise Hospital Trauma Center, where one of the victims was later pronounced deceased.
Police identified the suspect as 21-year-old Brandon McIver of Las Vegas. McIver is currently housed at the Clark County Detention Center where he faces charges of: murder with a deadly weapon; two counts of battery with a deadly weapon; two counts of battery with substantial bodily harm; and two counts of burglary with a deadly weapon.
The identity of the deceased victim as well as the cause and manner of death will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
