Police release video of attempted robbery injuring 79-year-old woman

NORTH LAS VEGAS (KSNV & MyNews3) -- North Las Vegas police are looking for a man who injured a woman while trying to steal her purse.

Surveillance video shows the man run out of a casino, grab the woman's purse, and then throw her to the ground.

She suffered minor injuries.

The attempted robbery happened on January 16 at about 2:40 p.m. in the parking lot of a local casino on the 2100 block of East Craig.

A 79-year-old woman parked her vehicle and began walking into the casino. She was approached by a man running out of the casino, who grabbed her purse and pushed her to the ground.

A passer-by came to her aid and the suspect fled in a silver Volkswagen Jetta driven by a second unidentified man.

The woman was transported to a nearby hospital and treated for her injuries.

The suspect who attacked the woman is described as a white man, 17- to 25-years-old, 5-foot-8-inches, weighing about 155 pounds, with brown hair.

The second suspect driving the Jetta is described as a white or Hispanic man, 18- to 25-years-old, with short brown hair and a mustache.
