HENDERSON, Nev. -- The Las Vegas Metro SCORE team raided a marijuana grow house operation located less than a block away from Cox Elementary School in Henderson on Thursday.
Police discovered more than 150 marijuana plants and about 20 pounds of packaged marijuana inside the home on the 2700 block of Pinewood Avenue. Metro Police narcotics officer Lt. Laz Chavez said there was more than $450,000 worth of marijuana in the home.
One suspect was home during the raid. Steven Prue, 36, was arrested on felony charges of selling marijuana and possession of marijuana.
Chavez said the case was a high priority for police due to its proximity to the elementary school.
Police are searching for additional suspects associated with the grow operation.
SCORE stands for Southern Nevada Cannabis Operation and Regional Enforcement and is a HIDTA funded task force.
SCORE is comprised of representatives from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Henderson Police Department.
