Las Vegas Metro police have made an arrest in connection to a homicide at a home in the 1600 block of White Skies Court.
Police officers on Tuesday, January 14 responded at approximately 5:56 a.m. to the residence on White Skies Court to investigate a report that a man had been shot.
Arriving patrol officers located an adult male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
The male was transported by medical personnel to the UMC Trauma Center where he was pronounced deceased a few hours later.
The preliminary investigation by LVMPD Homicide Detectives indicated the victim was at home when he heard a knock at the front door. As the victim was approaching the front of the residence, multiple shots were fired through the door, two of which struck the victim.
Family members also present in the residence were able to call for assistance. No one else in the residence was injured.
The investigation identified Raul Gonzales, 33 years of age of Las Vegas as the suspect in this crime.
Gonzales was located shortly after 4 a.m. on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 in a hotel parking lot in the 3600 block of Boulder Highway and was taken into custody without incident. Gonzales was transported to the Clark County Detention Center and is charged with: Murder in the first degree, and discharging a gun at or into an occupied structure.
