Suspect indicted for attempted murder of corn vendor

LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) – The Clark County grand jury indicted a man this morning for an attack on a corn vendor.

John Patric Lee, 27, is being held on $350,000 bail. He faces two counts each of battery with use of a deadly weapon resulting in substantial bodily harm and discharging a weapon where a person might be endangered, and one count each of attempted murder with use of a deadly weapon, battery with intent to commit a crime, robbery with use of a deadly weapon, and carrying a concealed firearm.

The district attorney’s office said Lee has no ties to Nevada and had a number of criminal charges in California.

His next hearing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. March 25.

Also indicted today were:

Kenya Splond, 41, and Kellie Erin Chapman, on one count each of conspiracy to commit robbery, burglary while in possession of a firearm, robbery with use of a deadly weapon, and possession of stolen property.

Splond is already in custody on $130,000 bond. Chapman’s bond was set at $140,000. Both are scheduled to return to court at 8 a.m. March 12.

James Ray Gray, on one count each of possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell and possession of a controlled substance (marijuana). His bond was set at $20,000.

Michael Ray Aker III, on one count of trafficking a controlled substance. His bond is set at $100,000. Aker’s next court date is set for 9 a.m. March 19.

Lindsey Sue Johnson, 34, on one count of grand larceny auto. She is being held on $40,000 bond. Her next court appearance is at 8:30 a.m. March 13.
