LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) – A Clark County grand jury has indicted a man in connection to a series of stabbings on the Las Vegas Strip.

Toan Vo faces three counts of assault with a deadly weapon; two counts each of attempted murder with use of a deadly weapon and battery with use of a deadly weapon; and one count each of burglary, conspiracy to commit battery, and carrying a concealed firearm or other deadly weapon.

According to a Metro arrest report, Vo and some friends got into a physical altercation in the walkway connecting the Luxor and Excalibur hotels around 7:50 p.m. on Sept. 7. Three people from out of state were attacked.

Clark County Deputy District Attorney Barbara Schifalacqua said that Vo had made a confession statement, saying that he was “irritated by the way they looked at him.”

Bail was increased from $40,000 to $200,000. Vo’s next court appearance is scheduled for 9 a.m. on May 8.

Also indicted today were:

John Paul Immanuel Varela, of one count of driving and/or being in actual physical control while under the influence of intoxicating liquor, causing death and/or substantial bodily harm.

The DA’s office has said that Varela has not shown up for any court proceeding in this matter. Defense attorney Mace Yampolsky says Varela has serious medical issues, is bedridden, and unable to drive.

Varela is scheduled to appear in court at 9 a.m. May 7.

Hakeshmin DeSargant, of one count of possession of stolen property. He is scheduled to appear in court at 8:15 a.m. May 14.
