LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) – A suspect has been arrested in a deadly shooting May 11 at a hookah lounge in southwest Las Vegas.
Preston Emerson, 20, faces charges of murder with use of a deadly weapon; and three counts each of attempted murder with use of a deadly weapon and battery with use of a deadly weapon. He was arrested Tuesday and is in the Clark County Detention Center.
Jean Claude Mombo, 33, died at UMC Trauma after the shooting at CEO Hookah Lounge & Bar in the 5900 block of West Flamingo Road. The cause of death was a gunshot wound to the torso and the death was ruled a homicide by the coroner's office.
Three other people, two men and a woman, were wounded but survived.
According to a Metro report, a verbal altercation took place between several people inside the lounge. The involved parties then exited the business where the altercation continued in the parking lot and shots were fired.
During the follow-up investigation, detectives were told that a promotional photographer was in the club and had photos of the suspect and a female accomplice.
