Henderson police investigate homeless man’s slaying

HENDERSON – Henderson Police detectives are continuing to investigate the slaying of a transient man found dead in a homeless encampment Tuesday night.

A man checking on his homeless brother called police about 6 p.m. after believing a man in the encampment was dead. Officers arrived at the encampment located in a desert area north of Lake Mead Parkway near Warm Springs Road and found a man, believed to be in his 30s, dead from apparent wounds. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.

The name of the man will be released by the Clark County coroner’s office.

The man’s death is the second homicide in Henderson this year.
