LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) – A Las Vegas man is facing six charges in relation to an attack on a corrections officer Wednesday morning at the Clark County Detention Center.

Michael M. Law, 25, is charged with two counts of battery with a deadly weapon on a police officer and assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer; and one count of attempted murder on a police officer; and burglary.

According to the Metro arrest report, Law walked into the Clark County Detention Center just before 10:30 a.m. toward two corrections officers with a baseball bat.

Before they could react, Law swung the bat several times, striking one officer in the head, neck, jaw and finger. Both officers were able to subdue the suspect.

But while other CCDC personnel were trying to take Law into custody, he was able to bring out a large knife. Someone yelled that he had a knife, and it was secured by another CCDC officer.

Police said he also had a picture of himself wrapped in plastic hidden in his anal cavity. Law said he did that to “further mess with the corrections officers,” according to the arrest report.

In an interview, Law said his motivation for the attack was because of a police call that occurred Saturday in which, he stated, he was the victim of a robbery. According to Law, since the police did nothing to help him, he decided to take revenge on “the corrupt Metropolitan Police Department.”
