LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) – The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is searching for a man suspected in a convenience store robbery near West Lake Mead Boulevard and North Torrey Pines Drive.

According to a Metro news release, the suspect entered a convenience store around 3:20 a.m. May 21. He selected a beverage and, once at the register, threw one of the bottles of liquor at the clerk and jumped up onto the counter and began striking the clerk in the face.

The suspect grabbed a plastic garbage bag liner and placed multiple brand-named cigarettes into bag before jumping back over the counter.

The suspect is described as a white male, 26 to 27 years old, clean-cut, 5-foot-8, medium build, brown, short hair, wearing a black with rainbow colored, checker pattern design, hooded jacket, a black T-shirt, khaki cargo pants and black shoes with a white bottom. He was wearing a large gold watch with a black band on his left wrist and a black Chicago Bulls hat with a red logo on the front.
