LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) – The suspect in a deadly stabbing Wednesday afternoon was upset that his ex-girlfriend had left his apartment with a man who ended up being the victim.
Cody Bradbury, 24, is in the Clark County Detention Center on a charge of murder with a deadly weapon.
According to the Metro arrest report, Bradbury found the victim’s motorcycle on the 3100 block of North Rancho Boulevard and kicked it to the ground. The victim came out and punched Bradbury in the face, and a fight ensued.
In an interview with homicide detectives, Bradbury said he pulled the knife out from the victim’s pocket and stabbed him in the stomach because he was on top of him in the fight. Bradbury says he remembers the victim saying, “You stabbed me.”
Bradbury, according to the report, fled on foot toward an apartment complex and threw the knife in the desert. He changed shirts and boarded an RTC bus. Officers stopped the bus at Decatur and Madre Mesa and apprehended him.
According to the Clark County district attorney’s office, Bradbury was scheduled for sentencing May 20 in an attempted theft case. He also had an outstanding arrest warrant issued Feb. 3 for burglary and possession of stolen property.
