LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) -- For job seekers, a Rip-Off Alert tip -- a robocall scam is making the rounds.

The Better Business Bureau says this scam begins with a recording claiming to be with an employment agency and wants to interview you about a job survey you supposedly filled out on line.

Once you give your name, educational background and salary requirements, a live person gets on the phone. But this isn't a hiring agency -- the Bureau says it's a shady company collecting information.

How to protect yourself:

-- Hang up if you encounter these calls.

-- Do not give out personal information.

-- File a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission.

The FTC recently announced plans for a new way to filter and block prerecorded calls.
