Common Core standards discussed in CCSD forum

LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) -- The CCSD Board of Trustees held a Parent & Community Forum today at Valley High School Theater, discussing Common Core standards and parent engagement.

The Common Core State Standards define the knowledge and skills students should gain and refine during their K-12 educational careers in mathematics and English language arts so that they will graduate high school able to succeed in entry-level, credit-bearing academic college courses and in workforce training programs.

Participants also engaged in a meet-and-greet with Superintendent Pat Skorkowsky.
