Former Wrangler accused of sexually abusing relative

LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) -- A man who used to play for the Las Vegas Wranglers hockey team has been arrested, accused of molesting a relative.

Michael McBain, 35, turned himself in to officers on July 5.

According to a police report, McBain had been sexually abusing the underage relative since 2008 when the victim was 12 years old.

After the victim came forward, McBain fled to Oregon and tried to kill himself.

McBain faces nine felony charges, including sexual assault and lewdness.

He played for the Wranglers from 2003 to 2008.
