LAS VEGAS -- The UNLV basketball team dropped three spots Monday in the Associated Press poll to a No. 14 national ranking, falling after losing last Saturday by two points at Wyoming.

In the coaches’ poll, the Rebels fell three slots to No. 16.

Mountain West Conference leading San Diego State, which UNLV (21-4 overall, 5-2 league) hosts at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Thomas & Mack Center, is ranked ahead of the Rebels in both polls. The Aztecs (20-3, 6-1) are No. 13 in the AP and No. 14 in the coaches.

UNLV split in a pair of league games last week, topping Colorado State 82-63 at home and falling at Wyoming, 68-66.

The game against San Diego State is the Rebels’ lone this week. The Rebels lost 69-67 at San Diego State last month in the league opener. They are a perfect 13-0 in games at the Mack, winning 11 of those games by 17 or more points.
