LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) -- The London Games are a little more than a month away, and we have two local Olympic developments.

UNLV sophomore Amanda Bingson made the Olympic hammer-throw team at the Olympic Trials on Thursday in Eugene, Ore. Bingson made a personal best throw of 71.78 meters and landed a spot on Team USA. She is a graduate of Silverado High School.

And a woman from Las Vegas will get to carry the Olympic torch.

Debra Toney is a registered nurse and owns TLC Health Care Services in Nevada.

She will get to carry the Olympic torch on July 9 in the British town of Kirtlington, near Oxford.
