LAS VEGAS (KSNV & MyNews3)-- If you plan to brave the crowds on the las vegas strip, half the battle is getting there. Wwith roads starting to shut down around 6 p.m. Saturday, one option is the Las Vegas monorail.

It may be bankrupt But the trains are still running.

There's plenty of parking at the MGM Grand and if you can find a parking spot near the closed Sahara, either of those end stations provide easy and quick access to the center-strip festivities.

New Year's Eve is one of the few times the monorail fills up each year. Otherwise, ridership seems a bit random.

News 3's Tom Hawley has more information on riding the Monorail.

It's $1 for locals all year round. It's great! Especially if you are entertaining family or friends from out of town. It's one of the best secrets of the strip!!
