One dead, 2 hurt after accident at Spring Mountain, Buffalo

LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) – One person was killed and two people were injured Tuesday morning after a two-vehicle accident Tuesday morning in the intersection of West Spring Mountain Road and Buffalo Drive.

According to a Metro news release, a 2006 Nissan Titan driven by a 46-year-old Las Vegas man was northbound on Buffalo crossing Spring Mountain just before 9:30 a.m.

A 2009 Mercedes‐Benz C300, driven by a 76-year-old man with a 68-year-old female passenger, was turning left onto eastbound Spring Mountain from the left turn lane of southbound Buffalo. The Mercedes‐Benz turned in front of the path of the Nissan Titan resulting in an impact. The passenger side of the Mercedes‐Benz was struck by the front of the Nissan Titan.

All occupants were transported to UMC Trauma by ambulance. The passenger of the Mercedes‐Benz was pronounced dead by medical personnel at UMC.

This is the 95th traffic-related fatality in LVMPD's jurisdiction in 2013. This collision remains under investigation by the LVMPD Accident Investigation Section.
