LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) – Residents who live near Blue Diamond and South Cimarron roads say the intersection is dangerous, and Saturday night’s accident that took the life of a teenager and injured two others was just another tragic reminder.

The Nevada Highway Patrol says Helen Liu, 14, died after a pickup truck hit her. Friends say she and two other girls were headed to slumber party. Those girls also were hospitalized.

Residents say the area lacks a crosswalk or even lights. There have been more than 40 pedestrian deaths in Clark County in 2013.
