Pedestrian killed on Boulder Hwy. near Sun Valley Drive

LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) – A man was killed Sunday night when he was struck attempted to cross Boulder Highway outside of a marked crosswalk.

In a news release, Metro says the victim was making his way across Boulder Highway south of Sun Valley Drive just before 9:30 p.m. A 2003 Nissan 350Z was traveling southbound on Boulder in the outside travel lane.

The pedestrian was hit by the front of the Nissan and thrown forward. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene by responding medical personnel.

The driver of the Nissan 350Z remained at the scene with minor injuries.

This was the 56th traffic-related fatality in Metro’s jurisdiction for 2013. The collision remains under investigation by the LVMPD Accident Investigations Section.
