LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) – A 65-year-old Henderson man is dead after crashing his vehicle into a tree Wednesday morning near Eastern Avenue and Patrick Lane.
The single-vehicle accident took place at approximately 11:07 a.m.
Police investigating the collision say a 2009 Dodge Avenger was traveling westbound on Patrick Lane, approximately 300 feet west of Eastern Avenue.
The Dodge drove into oncoming traffic, striking the south curb and left the roadway to the left.
The Dodge struck two trees and re‐entered the roadway, crossing all lanes of travel and ultimately struck the north curb. The Dodge came to rest in the westbound travel lanes and it did not appear speed was a factor in the collision.
The driver of the Dodge was transported to Sunrise Trauma Center where he was pronounced deceased by medical personnel. It is unknown if the driver suffered from any medical conditions prior to the collision.
Two passengers in the Dodge, Mary Lucero, 64, and Robert Lucero, 35, both from Henderson, did not sustain any injuries.
The Clark County Coroner's Office will determine the cause and manner of death. This collision will not be counted as a traffic related fatality until the Coroner's Office has made a determination. This collision remains under investigation by the LVMPD Accident Investigation Section.
