LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) -- Two suspected robbers -- one with a possible gunshot wound after a store manager shot at them – are on the run, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
It happened before 4 p.m. inside a consignment store at the intersection of Eastern and Serene avenues.
Wearing sunglasses and clothes pulled up over their heads, police said the suspects went into the store and smashed in jewelry cases with a hammer.
Police said this is the second time the store was robbed. They said the earlier robbery happened just last month.
Police said they do not know if the two robberies are connected, but said this time around the store manager was prepared.
“The manager heard the glass break and told all her employees to run out the back,” Sgt. Steve Junge said.
Junge said the store manager then fired at the suspects.
“She believes she did hit one of the suspects. There are some small blood droplets in the store,” Junge said. “I don't know if that could have come from the glass or maybe one of them was hit.”
Police said the store manager was not hurt, and that the suspects took off in a stolen truck.
“We've recovered that, but it's unoccupied,” Junge said. “We don't have any suspects in custody.”
Police said the truck was found near Boulder Station. They said it’s unknown if the suspects had guns.
The suspects were described as white males or possibly light-skinned Hispanic men.
Police said they will use surveillance video from inside the store to help track down the suspects.
