LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews 3.com) -- The Clark County coroner's office has identified the Henderson man killed early Saturday when his Ford Expedition crashed on U.S. 95 in the southeast part of the valley.
The victim in the 5:15 a.m. accident was 37-year-old Daniel Acosta. He died of blunt force injuries to his head and torso. The death was ruled an accident.
A Nevada Highway Patrol preliminary investigation determined that the blue 2008 Ford Expedition was traveling southbound on the U.S. 95 southbound off-ramp to State Route 564 (West Lake Mead Boulevard) when it veered off the left side of the roadway.
The vehicle continued onto the rock covered east shoulder and up the concrete embankment, where it flipped over and struck a concrete column.
Acosta was pronounced dead at the scene. The NHP said speed was a factor. A toxicology report is pending.
