LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) – Former NFL running back Larry Johnson has been arrested on a domestic violence incident in Las Vegas.

Metro says it received a call this morning from Bellagio security, who said that they had detained a subject for possible domestic violence.

Officers arrived and found that Johnson had met with a former girlfriend on the property. The encounter turned into a dispute which turned into an altercation between Johnson and the victim.

While Johnson suffered small scratches on his face, the 32-year-old woman exhibited multiple facial injuries and bruising on her neck, according to Metro.

Based on the victim’s injuries and other evidence, Johnson was arrested for Battery Domestic Violence-Strangulation, transported to the Clark County Detention Center and booked accordingly. Johnson is eligible to post bail after a state-mandated detention of at least 12 hours.

Johnson played with Kansas City, Cincinnati, Washington and Miami in a seven-year career. He rushed for more than 1,700 yards in 2005 and 2006 for the Chiefs.
