LAS VEGAS -- The father of a local 7-year-old boy wants justice for his son who was allegedly beaten to death by his mother and stepfather.

News 3's Marissa Mike has more informtion about a wrongful death lawsuit against state and local agencies alleging their inaction led to his death.

Today News 3 met with the lawyer of RJ Arrington's father who says this lawsuit isn't about the money. It's about transparency.

RJ's biological dad wants to know all the details about the days leading up to RJ's death. He believes if authorities had taken the correct steps, his son would be alive today.

"RJ"'s mom, Dina Palmer and his stepfather Markiece Palmer now face murder charges for the death of 7-year-old RJ Arrington.

According to the filings, RJ's mom and step-dad would beat the little boy when he got into trouble for not reading his bible or lying about doing his homework.

The lawsuit lists a number of defendants including the Palmers, the state of Nevada and Clark County family services as well as the Clark County School District.

Attorney Matthew Callister, who represents RJ's biological father says they're filing a wrongful death lawsuit because the different agencies knew RJ was in a dangerous situation, and acted when it was too late.

Same ole same ole. Millions of fathers are alienated from their children because of the extremely bias Family court system. The assistant DA that went against me in Family courts was the most bias woman I have ever meet in my life. She would ignore all facts and fight for a woman that she had never met. The worse and most unfair thing I had ever gone through in my life!

It's indeed tragic to loose a 7 year old son at the hands of people too vile to ever have been awarded custody. This father's wrongful death lawsuit should expose the pitiful systems leading to such an outrageous result. We pray not only that he win the case but more importantly, actions will be taken to overhaul a grossly unsatisfactory child welfare system.
