LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) -- Another Firefly* is closing.

News 3 has confirmed that the Firefly* Tapas and Kitchen Bar at 9650 W. Sahara Ave. will close at the end of business today.

The Henderson location of Firefly* on Eastern Avenue was shuttered in April.

Firefly owners, John and Tabitha Simmons, released a statement Sunday about today's closure:

"In an effort to continue revamping our operations and focus our full energy on delivering a safe, consistent, quality and fun dining experience to our loyal fans, we will be closing our West Sahara Firefly.*

"We cannot say enough about the efforts of the new management and staff at this location; however, at this time it is necessary for us to downsize our operations. We will do our absolute best to rehire as many employees as possible at our Paradise location.

We are grateful for your patronage and we hope to see you again at our Paradise location."

Tabitha Simmons declided to say how many employees would lose their jobs at West Sahara.

The Simmons have been trying to overcome fallout from a salmonella outbreak that sickened several hundred patrons and forced it to close its original location on Paradise Road last year. The first Firefly* opened there in 2003.

The West Sahara Firefly* has been operating since 2010.

After today's closure of the West Sahara eatery, the Simmons will be operating two restaurants -- Firefly* on Paradise, 3824 Paradise Rd., which opened May of 2013; and Tacos & Beer, at 3900 Paradise Rd., which opened this April.
