LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) -- Five Las Vegas seniors were injured Saturday evening in a two-car accident on the far west side of the Las Vegas Valley.
Metro reported that a 2002 Chrysler 300 driven by Harriet Ruben, 74, was southbound on Billy Casper Drive and making a left turn into Sun City Boulevard when it failed to yield the right of way at the stop sign and struck a 2006 Chevrolet Malibu, causing major damage to the vehicles. The intersection is about midway between West Cheyenne and West Lake Mead about a mile east of the I-215.
All passengers were transported to area hospitals with moderate to critical injuries.
Ruben suffered serious injuries. The driver of the Malibu, 79-year-old Richard Walker, suffered critical injuries. Passengers with serious injuries were 76-year-old Bert Levy and 72-year-old Carrole Levy. Another passenger, 82-year-old Sherwin Ruben, suffered injuries Metro described as moderate.
The accident is under investigation by Metro's accident investigations section.
