LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) -- All nine people hospitalized after Saturday's bizarre crash in which a pickup drove through a grocery store have been released from the hospital.

A total of 26 people were injured at about 2:50 p.m. Saturday when an 88-year-old unnamed woman drove her Ford F-150 pickup through the entrance of the Food 4 Less store on Eastern and Sahara.

Nine were sent to the hospital and 17 were treated at the scene.

As bad as it was, the accident could have been much worse, most witnesses say.

The grocer brought in more workers to repair the damage and the store opened at about noon, said Kendra Doyel, a spokeswoman for the company that owns Food 4 Less.

Metro is still investigating the accident, but plenty of witnesses say it seems the elderly woman mistook the accelerator for the brake.

Despite quite a bit of destruction to cash registers and store shelves, the only visible sign of the accident today is the plywood covering the entrance.

Shopper Jody Robinson was on the floor of the store just seconds after Saturday's accident. She suffered a fractured leg.

Robinson told News 3 that she was checking out when she heard the revving of an engine. Before she knew it, the truck came through the sliding door. She remembers running for her life.

Robinson said she saw the driver trying to swerve away from her.

"If she wouldn't have turned away from me, I wouldn't have made it," Robinson said Sunday. "There is no way because she was going right for me."

Robinson said she views the incident as just an accident; she has no ill feelings toward the driver.

Metro says the driver is doing fine, but won't say if any charges are planned.
