Freedom from heat: Cowabunga Bay opens to public

HENDERSON (KSNV — Many Las Vegas valley residents spent their Fourth of July holiday at the opening day of the region’s newest water park.

Cowabunga Bay opened to patrons today in Henderson, and even a few rain drops couldn't keep them away.

Hundreds waited in line to join the fun and hop on one of more than a dozen new slides.

The park has the largest lazy river in the state, pools and plenty of adrenaline-rushing attractions.
