LAS VEGAS (AP) — Authorities have identified a 9-year-old girl Las Vegas girl killed after an SUV overcorrected and flipped on Interstate 15.
Clark County coroner's officials say Gabriela Casias died in the crash that happened near the D Street exit in Las Vegas a little after 8 a.m. on Wednesday.
Nevada Highway Patrol officials say a 22-year-old mother was driving the Ford Explorer with six children inside, including her children and her sister's children.
The six surviving occupants were taken to the hospital.
Trooper Loy Hixson says another vehicle may have cut off the SUV and prompted the crash.
Teachers at Squires Elementary School have created a donation fund for Gabriela's family. The fund has been set up at Wells Fargo Bank under teacher Joy Ruby’s name.
The money will help the family with funeral expenses. Contributions can be made at any Wells Fargo branch throughout the valley.
