LAKE MEAD (KSNV MYnews3.com) -- The effort to find two missing boaters in the Echo Bay area of Lake Mead National Recreation Area has become a recovery effort.

"About 100 searchers covered an estimated 30,000 acres by land, sea and air on Saturday," park spokeswoman Christie Vanover told News 3. "We did find some debris from the boat, but nothing else. This has now become a recovery effort."

The search concluded at 3 p.m. Saturday and will resume Sunday as a water search only, Vanover said.

Earlier Saturday, the Clark County coroner's office identified a boater found Friday as 48-year-old Oscar Dixon Jr. of North Las Vegas.

Three men were reported missing Thursday evening by a family member after they didn’t call in for the night during a multi-day boating trip. Their capsized 1977 Glastron boat was located Friday morning.

Dixon's body was found a half mile north of the vessel. He was pronounced dead by a Clark County medical examiner at 5 p.m. Friday.

Saturday's search team consisted of four National Park Service vessels with rangers and side scan sonar, one Nevada Department of Wildlife vessel, and Metro Air and Civil Air Patrol. Forty Red Rock Search and Rescue volunteers combed about seven miles of land on both sides of the shore.
