LAS VEGAS (KSNV & MyNews3) -- The Fashion industry comes to Las Vegas twice a year, once in the summer and then again in the winter.

The MAGIC clothing convention kicked off Monday at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center and the Las Vegas Convention Center.

With more than 80,000 attendees this year it is no surprise that the Magic Convention out here in Las Vegas continues to grow year after year.

And while the female clothing lines have always been a major draw, this year organizers say it's all about menswear and youth wear.

You'll still find all the popular female brands and designers and not just clothing, but shoes, handbags and accessories.

Mens and youth wear are two segments of the industry that are growing with famous actors and musicians often endorsing their own brands.

"Would you say the line is an extension of your own personality, is it a part of how you are in real life?

“I believe all designs begin with what I have shown to be my style." said rapper and performer T.I. who represents A.K.O.O. clothing.

When you talk about clothing for young people, you have to include sportswear fashion with an emphasis on fun.

"With youth culture though, you're going to have things like rappers, boxers and skateboarders and all sorts of unique characters who also converge on this,” said Show Director Kenny Mac. “So it's a lot of fun."

Unfortunately MAGIC is only open to those in the industry. The items feature at this summer conference won't be available to the public until the spring.

Designers said one thing that's changed about fashion, is that it's not just about looking cool, it's not just about quality, it's also about functionality.

They say together all of these things combine to make up modern day style.
