LAS VEGAS (KSNV – The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department says a worker at the MGM Grand fell from the marquee this morning.

The accident occurred just after 9:40 a.m. He was transported to UMC Trauma.

Clark County Deputy Fire Chief Jon Klassen said the worker fell about 150 feet. The drop was broken somewhat by landscaping, but he did suffer some severe injuries.

He was alive when transported to UMC.

Klassen did not know whether the victim was an MGM worker or contractor for the company. It was also unclear on what kind of work was being done on the sign when he fell.

Occupational Safety and Health Administration officials are investigating the accident.
